California is Expanding the Chiropractor's Role

Has all the health care/insurance talk got you feeling down?

It's true, health care costs are up and down and all around lately, and to make matters even worse, there is a shortage of health care professionals in the state of California! The Affordable Care Act (ACA) will go into effect in 2014, to help uninsured individuals receive the necessary care they need, but that means there will be more people than ever trying to get into already slammed doctors' offices. How will residents of California maintain safe, "convenient and timely access to health care services and primary care providers who can diagnose, treat, and manage patient health need?"

Enter alternative health care options that insurance companies are starting to partner with (if they haven't already).

Yes, that's right, California State Legislature is looking to bring in effective alternative health care options to help lighten the load at impacted hospitals and clinics. This means chiropractors are stepping up in a big way to assist in the primary care shortage we are seeing in California. Chiropractic care is something that millions of people turn to for pain relief, health maintenance, and overall wellness for years! So it seems funny that chiropractors should be getting the spotlight only now as the heroes of health care reform when they have been doing this all along.

How will chiropractors make a difference in this primary care shortage?

The chiropractor's role in your health care is to ensure safe, noninvasive, pain-relieving techniques that improve your quality of life. If you are suffering from back pain, joint issues, or maybe had a car accident and the whiplash is killing you, chiropractic care offers a hands- on approach to address the pain and discomfort without pumping pain killers into your body. This means you have another option at your disposal instead of waiting in a long line at the doctor’s office, which is then followed by a second long line at the pharmacy. As always, be sure you have checked in with your primary care doctor before changing your care.

"The services provided by Doctors of Chiropractic are cost effective and have consistently demonstrated high levels of patient satisfaction."

California is reaching out to chiropractors all over the state to step in and help patients with their health care. This cost effective, noninvasive, holistic approach to neck/back/joint pain and health maintenance really is a wonderful way to help relieve the shortage in primary health care. It promotes wellness, and uses spinal adjustments to align the body so that your body is the healthiest it can be! Head on over to your local chiropractor's office for an adjustment today!
