Natural News About Back Pain Relief

So often the answer to pain is a pill, but how many painkillers can the body take before they start to take their toll?

News is spreading fast about all the natural ways to combat lower pain that don't involve taking drugs; that sounds so dangerous when we say it like that.  But seriously, prescription drugs and over the counter drugs can have unwanted side effects that can start off small but build up to more serious problems later. People all over are coming out against painkillers (doctors too), so it's time to look to these natural remedies:

  • Drink your pain away: Just not with alcohol, drink it away with water. Keeping your body properly hydrated is so important it cannot be stressed enough! "Dehydrated spinal discs cannot vacuum enough water back in to their cores, so they can no longer function as good shock absorbers; but keep them hydrated and they will keep you pain-free," says Dr. F. Batmangheldi, author of Water For Health, for Healing, for Life.  Also, when you are dehydrated your muscles become tired, and this fatigue pulls your back into poor posture. And as we know by know, poor posture leads to a host of back pain problems. ??
  • Look into some herbs: An independent study found an herb located in Africa called Devil's Claw that proved to be just as effective as painkillers, sans the unwanted side effects. The study directs the user to "take 204 grams of Devil's Claw daily to effectively relieve back pain caused by inflammation." The good news is this isn't the only healthy herb out there that helps relieve back pain, start your research engine!
  • Stretching and maintenance: Just what that says, you should do! Daily stretches can do wonders for your back by keeping your muscles limber and improving range of motion. If you are already in the throes of back pain take stretching very easily. Maybe lie down on your back and slowly lift your knees to your chest. To stay on top of the pain, keep up good health maintenance by seeing your chiropractor. The occasional adjustment here and there can really do wonders for your posture and alignment.

The best way to prevent debilitating back pain is to maintain a healthy weight, exercise regularly, eat right, drink plenty of water, and reduce stress. But when back pain occasionally strikes, treat it naturally for safe (and fast) relief.

Always remember to check with your doctor before trying anything brand new. If you have been suffering from chronic back pain do some research, talk with your doctor, and see if these natural remedies are right for you!
