Why Your Chiropractor is Your True Valentine

By Krista Elliott

Ah, February brings with it Valentine's Day. Throughout the month, love is in the air as we celebrate our nearest and dearest. Or maybe you were just waiting for the half-priced chocolates to be found on February 15th.

Whether you're a hopeless romantic or a jaded cynic, listen up: Valentine's Day, or any day for that matter, doesn't have to be about romantic love. It can be about the respect and appreciation that you have for the people who treat you well and who make your life easier. With that in mind, my valentine this year was ... my chiropractor.

No, I don't mean that I'm in love with my chiropractor. That would be weird. But why not take a moment to think about why your chiropractor deserves some appreciation and respect?

The Ultimate Professionals

Becoming a chiropractor requires a lot of dedication, study, and skill, according to the American Chiropractic Association:

"Doctors of chiropractic are subject to the boundaries established in state practice acts and are regulated by state licensing boards. Further, their education in four-year doctoral graduate school programs is nationally accredited through an agency that operates under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Education. After graduation, they must pass national board exams before obtaining a license to practice, and then must maintain their license annually by earning continuing education (CE) credits through state-approved CE programs."

Chiropractors make it their life's work to understand the mechanisms of the human body, and how even the tiniest bones, muscles and joints all work together in concert with the larger ones. They have a comprehensive understanding of the musculoskeletal system and how everything is linked.

Lend Me an Ear

There's nothing more frustrating than when a medical professional isn't listening to you. At The Joint, that won't happen. Our chiropractors listen closely to your concerns, and ask the important questions about your health, habits, and lifestyle, all to create a mental map of how your joints have been affected over time. If you have any concerns or worries about chiropractic care, they'll give you all of the information you need to help ease your mind.

In addition to your words, chiropractors listen to your body. Examination and treatment is precise, zeroing in on subluxation and identifying joint restrictions and muscular imbalances. They treat your immediate pain, but look beyond that to root out the cause of the pain, helping return your body to its optimal alignment and helping you feel great.

You might be feeling a lot of love for your chiropractor right now, but it's nothing compared to the appreciation they feel for you and the love they have for helping you feel healthy and pain-free. So come by The Joint today!
