The key ingredient that causes dehydration in this item is sodium. While popcorn is tasty, sodium causes dehydration and may impact the success of your exercise or workout regime. If you can’t resist grabbing a bag for a movie, opt for no sodium.

Drinks high in sugar

This item may not come as a surprise, as anything high in sugar and carbonated holds no nutritional value. Along with high amounts of sugar, the increase of artificial sweeteners has taken the food industry by storm. These types of sugars have a negative impact on our water storage and may make us dehydrated faster.

White Asparagus

While you may be gasping at the sight of a vegetable causing dehydration, but it’s true! Aspartic Acid is what causes this type of asparagus to cause dehydration because it encourages renal activity.

Coffee

For those that are coffee lovers, you may be aware that coffee is a diuretic. While a cup or two a day won’t directly affect you in a negative way, for those that are drinking large amounts of coffee daily, it may in fact increase your chances of dehydration. Whenever you are drinking a cup of coffee, it is always best to pair it with a cup of water.

Soy Sauce

When it comes to cooking, pairing soy sauce to almost any dish can add a dash of extra flavoring . But with soy sauce being high in sodium, it may result in dehydration as well. Try to buy soy sauce that is low in sodium, and try to use it sparingly in food and while cooking.
