Important Reminder: Weight Gain Can Create Back Pain

Americans currently face their fair share of health issues, but there are two conditions which are particularly notable for their rapid rise in recent years. Back pain is one of the top reasons why people visit their doctors each year, as is weight gain and obesity. It shouldn't be too surprising to learn that these two health problems are often linked in a manner which can damage a person's overall health. Weight and its Effects on the Spinal Column

A person who is overweight tends to carry extra pounds in their midsection. This throws off the natural alignment of the body. Over time, this unnecessary strain places a lot of pressure on the muscles of the back, which can begin to promote the development of chronic pain.

In a similar fashion to how the back begins to degrade as a result of carrying extra weight, the joints in the lower half of your body begin to feel the added pressure in a way which can cause great pain. 

This is just one more excellent reason why you should be doing everything you can to maintain a healthy weight for your body type. Living a healthy, active lifestyle full of positive habits and choices can make a huge difference in how you feel, physically and mentally, on a daily basis. Consume a diet rich in whole, unprocessed foods, and do your best to fit some form of exercise into your daily routine; even a daily walk will do.
