What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the philosophy, science and art concerned with the detection, localization and adjustment of vertebral subluxations in the spinal column. A subluxation is a vertebra out of proper alignment causing pressure or an interference with the nervous system.

The nervous system controls every aspect of your body. When subluxations interfere with this system, it creates "dis-ease" (a term used to denote the loss of body harmony). Though this condition is often painless, it can cause irreparable damage if it remains undetected or uncorrected. It also can lead to gradual erosion of health and well being. Each and every one of us has the right to good health and it is never too late to take charge and live life to its full potential.

By correcting subluxations and removing the interference to your nervous system, your body is free to function more efficiently on all levels. You do not have to be in pain or discomfort to benefit from Chiropractic adjustments.

Is Chiropractic Care OK for My Child?

Chiropractic adjusting techniques are modified to fit a child's size, weight and unique spinal problem. The force needed to adjust an infant or child is so little, that infants are often adjusted while sleeping and don't even wake-up.

How can a child's spine lose alignment?

Spinal nerve damage, also known as vertebral subluxations, can have many causes. Some injuries to the spine are caused during the birth process by obstetrical procedures.
For example, forceps are capable of causing damage to the newborn's spine, especially when they are used to pull or twist the head and neck. Babies were meant to be pushed and guided out of the birth canal, not pulled out.

The resulting irritation of the nerve system can be the cause of many newborn health complaints; colic, unexplained crying, poor appetite, breathing problems, ear infections and allergic reactions.
