Meet Our Chiropractors
Dr. Theresa Martin, D.C.
Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus
Years Practicing: 10
Dr. Martin is a native Floridian from Tampa. She graduated from Palmer Florida in 2006 along with her colleague Dr. Edward Leonard owner of The Joint Clinics in Tampa Bay. During her Chiropractic curriculum she was chosen by her classmates to participate in the Clinic abroad program where she traveled to Bequia in the Grenadine Islands and treated the Islanders and their families ages toddler to 77 yrs. old. This experience was very rewarding and life changing. She hopes to return to Bequia and participate in future health related mission trips. She also was a student doc at the school clinic and the “outreach” clinic where she treated the undeserved population. She volunteered at all local health fairs, sporting events and toastmasters where she educated patients about the benefits of Chiropractic care.
After a long career of 26 years as a FL L.M.T., she was inspired by her veteran colleagues to pursue Chiropractic. After many sporting injuries during her youth and college days and a few unexpected motor vehicle accidents with whiplash injuries, she took the advice of a co-worker to seek out Chiropractic care for the symptom’s she was experiencing. Immediately Dr. Martin found relief at last. She always contributes her long massage therapy profession to the chiropractic care over the years. Dr. Martin believes the body is self-healing with a little guidance from the experts.
Dr. Martin and her Westie named Scottie enjoys all outdoor activities and prefers living in Pinellas county near the water. Dr. Martin joined the team at The Joint in February 2016. She believes you’ve got to do what you love, and love what you do. “A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination”, Nelson Mandella.
