Dr. Tanya Carlson, D.C.
National University of Health Sciences
Years Practicing: 4
Dr. Tanya Carlson earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2012 at the National University of Health Sciences with a focus on physical therapy and corrective movement rehabilitation. In college, Dr. Carlson fell in love with the game of rugby. She quickly rose through the playing ranks and was a fixture in the USA Women's rugby selection pool. Dr. Carlson has also coached men's and women's high school and collegiate rugby teams. In addition to rugby, she has competed in the Figure division of several bodybuilding competitions and enjoys participating in CrossFit. Through her own competitive athletic experiences, Dr. Carlson has firsthand knowledge on how Chiropractic care can be a vital component to an athlete's ability to perform, recover and heal. She strongly feels that her deep rooted passion for identifying functional imbalances and poor body mechanics can benefit non-athletes and athletes alike. She applies the lessons she learned as a player and a coach to create a healthy, safe and comfortable environment for all patients.
Dr. Carlson considers patient education to be an essential component of any medical treatment and strives to create a synergistic doctor-patient relationship. She believes it is paramount to help each individual understand their symptoms and the root cause of those symptoms along with explaining their treatment options in order to ensure that her patients are equipped to successfully improve their well-being and performance.
"I firmly believe in the practice of preventive health care. I make every effort to improve the quality of my patients’ lives by encouraging and empowering the creation of healthy habits, educating patients on imbalances and dysfunctions, and providing tools to address the imbalances and dysfunctions to prevent future injury. I dedicate myself improving the well-being and physical performance of my patients.”
