Meet The Doctors
Dr. Philip Featherstone, D.C.
Dr. Philip Featherstone received his under graduate degree from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry in 1972. He returned to his home town of Stuart, Florida where he lived and worked until January 1976 when he moved to Chicago, Illinois to attend National College of Chiropractic. Following graduation in December 1979 Dr. Featherstone returned to Stuart where he directed a large family practice.
In 1987 Dr. Featherstone continued his specialty education when he accepted a Residency in Neurology followed by an appointment in 1989 to The Epsom Center in Orlando, Florida where he supervised patient Neurological evaluation and their ultimate rehabilitation. While practicing in Orlando he met his future wife Susan in January 1990 and they were married in Orlando in September of 1992. He and Susan relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where he practiced Chiropractic Neurology and Rehabilitation through 202. In 2003 the Featherstone's relocated their family to Charlotte, NC which at that time included their three children Zachary 10, Alex 5 and Adam 2. Dr. Featherstone practiced Chiropractic Neurology and Rehabilitation in Charlotte for 10 years before joining The Joint in April 2013.
Dr. Featherstone believes that routine weekly chiropractic adjustments correct and manage spinal misalignments which are the cause of nervous system interference. This nerve interference alters how your body reacts and overcomes the stresses of daily activities. It is this nerve interference which decreases the ability of a person's body to function at 100% capacity 100% of the time, to heal from the inside out, to digest all the good foods eaten in a healthy diet, to sleep soundly not awakened in spinal discomfort, to be outwardly focused on one's everyday tasks instead of inwardly focused on aches and pains and limited function.
Dr. Featherstone understands that although exercise, correct foods diet, daily hydration and liberal sleep and rest are extremely important, a nervous system free of interfering spinal misalignments is the best foundation for a long fulfilling life."
