Chiropractics Diagnosing Problems Within the Sacroiliac Joint

Some of the lesser known parts of our bodies have the ability to play a large role in musculoskeletal health outcomes. Problems with our musculoskeletal system have a high tendency to arise in our joints, as so much of the stress, wear, and tear that our bodies incur are placed directly on the joints. Our shoulders, our knees, our hips, and numerous other joints are essentially checkpoints for our musculoskeletal system. When there are problems in our joints, then there are most likely problems elsewhere in the body.

One joint that chiropractors have identified as being a prominent cause of musculoskeletal problems is the sacroiliac joint. This joint is located in our lower backs and it is the point in which our spine meets our pelvis. This is one of the main links between our spine and our overall skeleton and these links are rooted in the vertebrae in the lumbar portion of our spine. When there are problems in the sacroiliac joint, chiropractors have found that there is a high likelihood that there are even more significant problems in other parts of the body. However, these problems may have been deemed minimal in the past and diagnostics by a chiropractor may be able to effectively trace the source of these problems to the sacroiliac joint.

When proper alignment is restored to the bones that are a part of the sacroiliac joint, then the rest of the body can eventually restore their own alignment as well. The entire upper half of our bodies are completely relying on this crucial choke point for stability and proper alignment and if there is even the slightest problem with the alignment of the sacroiliac joint, then one half our bodies are potentially compromised.

Problems within the sacroiliac joint may mask themselves as simple lower back pain, but the problems that a patient is really experiencing can be much more extensive. Chiropractors have the ability to help patients diagnose these problems and hopefully avoid them in the future. If left untreated, these injuries can lead to permanent damage - especially if there is nerve pressure present. It is vital for patients to get a clear diagnosis and follow their wellness plans as prescribed in order to heal properly and prevent further issues.
