Live Like a King: Chiropractic and the Circle of Life

Disney is really coming out with the hits this summer. Maybe it’s simply because I have small children that I’m so tuned in to the goings-on with children’s movies, but The Lion King has certainly been highly anticipated in my household.
It is certainly one of Disney’s most enduring tales. What’s not to love about the themes of family, loyalty, friendship, and smelly warthogs? And of course, the circle of life. It’s such a great reminder that all of us are part of a much bigger picture -- a cog in the wheel of the circle of life that keeps on rolling whether we want it to or not.
Your health and wellness are part of a circle too, and your circle of life keeps on moving forward. Luckily, the chiropractors at The Joint Chiropractic are here to help be your guide through every stage of your life to help you focus on your health and wellness until your story is done. Here’s what you can expect to gain from chiropractic care over the course of your lifelong journey.
Newborns
You may not have an official presentation ceremony for your little lion cub atop Pride Rock, but that doesn’t mean your new little bundle doesn’t instill a deep sense of pride. And while babies may look as if they’re living a fairly carefree existence with all that eating and napping, it’s important to understand that birth is hard.
Yes, birth is emotionally and physically exhausting for every mom, but for a baby entering the world, it can be an arduous journey too. The physical act of being born can place a lot of stress and strain on a baby’s spine, thereby adding stress to their central nervous system. This can lead to problems such as colic, difficulty sleeping, and chronic ear infections.
When you bring your baby into The Joint Chiropractic, doctors can assess any problems that may have arisen from the birth process and help your baby’s spine and central nervous system to function as it should. This can make both parents and baby a whole lot happier -- and you might catch a little more shut-eye in the process.
Children and Adolescents
Kids are full of energy and they lead active lives. Aside from pouncing lessons, every parent knows that sometimes this surplus of energy can result in accidents that lead to injury. With the help of the chiropractors at The Joint Chiropractic, your child can work to stay healthy by addressing injuries before they lead to larger problems. Chiropractic care can also help your child to develop and grow with their body functioning at its very best.
Adults
As is popular to say today: Adulting is hard.
Sure, added responsibilities in adulthood can be taxing, but adulting is actually pretty tough on your physical and emotional health too. With regular chiropractic care, you can set up your body to handle the stress that being the king (or queen) of your own land brings with it. That way, you can meet the challenges of adulthood with optimism, energy, and perhaps fewer reminders in the form of aches and pains that you are, in fact, getting older. With a properly functioning central nervous system free from joint restrictions and dysfunctions, you can be at your best as you battle your uncle for control of the kingdom.
Seniors
Some seniors tend to adopt a sort of Hakuna Matata philosophy. After all, those aches and pains are normal, so why worry about them, right? Not so fast, Timon the meerkat. You should feel your best no matter how old you are -- and chiropractic care can help you to achieve that.
The choices you make throughout your life have a huge impact on your future. When you have a healthy nervous system and spine, it leads to healthy organs and muscles, which then leads to a better quality of life and longevity. That’s why the chiropractors at The Joint recommend regular chiropractic care for seniors. It can help them to stay active, stay flexible, increase coordination and balance, and reduce joint degeneration as they age.
The circle of life is an amazing concept and a great lesson for everyone to learn. When you’re enjoying the latest incarnation of The Lion King on the big screen, think about your own circle of life and what you can do to improve it. Chances are, chiropractic care can play a big part in making your circle complete.
