Meet The Doctors
Dr. Emily Hahn was born in Oregon but raised in Arizona. She first became interested in chiropractic care as a profession after her dad threw his back out when she was little. It was her father’s experience that brought her to Parker University in Dallas, TX where, along with her sister, she graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2017.
Upon receiving her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Hahn has learned to serve a range of patients from infants to grandparents all with a variety of ailments such as sciatica, neck and low back pain, jaw pain, migraines, arthritis and much more. She has been with The Joint since 2018.
Dr. Hahn says the best thing about being a chiropractor is introducing people of all ages to the potential of their bodies under chiropractic care. She also enjoys learning new tricks to help patients with difficult problems.
In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, watching movies, playing video games, and playing with her dogs. Her favorite movie is Ben-Hur (1959).
He received his B.S. degree in General Biology from University of Maryland, College Park, and doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College, Davenport.
Dr. Kim joined The Joint Chiropractic family of healthcare providers in 2023. He has been providing chiropractic care in Arizona since 2016 and takes pride in educating his patients on how routine chiropractic care can lead to a more mobile, pain-free, life of wellness.
He has a passion for chiropractic because of the direct connection with the patient and the passion grew as he experienced patients’ testimonies first hand. “The good moments while being in practice is when the patients feel the proceeding recovery.”
He appreciates the value of The Joint and the accessibility of routine care. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking and mountaineering.
Dr. Shaikewitz was born in St. Louis, Mo where he attended the University of Missouri earning a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing.
Out of college he was an insurance agent & broker and later, a 2nd Vice President of a furniture store he helped run.
In 1991 he recieved his Doctor of Chiropractic and Physical Medicine Modalities and Therapeutic Procedures degree from Logan College of Chiropractic and started his own practice in January of 1992 here in Chandler, AZ.
Later in 1995 attained additional credentialing as Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP).
His Chiropractic techniques include, Diversified, Drop Table and Activator. He also provides patient education on the prevention (including proper bio-mechanics) and the care of injuries.
During high school he lettered in football, wrestling and track and was the captain of the wrestling team.
In high school, college and here in Phoenix he participated and played in a number of racquetball groups & leagues and placed in a number of tournaments.
While in college he participated in many of the intermural sports and in the early 1990's, founded and played on 2 co-ed Field Hockey teams here in Phoenix (The Arizona State Field Hockey Club and the Phoenix Scorpions).
He not only treated those field hockey players as needed, but also a relief pitcher for professional baseball team and a member of a world famous band.
He also worked with the Arizona Football Cardinal Video crew taking photo faxes of each play to the players and coaches on the field at the home games for the last 12 years before they left Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe and moved to Glendale.
He had his national acting debut (or lack their of) being featured on an episode of the TV show COPS when it was on TV.
It shows him being extricated from his car with the “Jaws of Life” after being hit "head on" by another driver who was impaired by alcohol and Methamphetamine.
A year after the incident to prove he was rehabilitating correctly, he participated in the Senior Olympics in track and racquetball.
Dr. Michael Chan grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Mount Hood College. He later graduated from the University of Wester States in 1985. He says the best part about being in the chiropractic field is being able to help people and make a living at the same time!
When Dr. Michael is not working he enjoys traveling, watching sports, sleeping, playing golf, and shopping. One thing Dr. Michael must have in his fridge at all times is orange juice!
Dr. Alicia DeWilde was born and raised in the Chicago Suburbs, Illinois. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2018 and Life University - Marietta in 2022, she moved to Mesa in 2023 with her husband, Dr. Brian DeWilde. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, working out, hanging out with family and her Boston Terrier, Lemon.
Dr. Alicia always knew that she wanted to work with people. She enjoys helping others become the best version of themselves. She says, “I was on track to attend med school until my junior year of college when all my friends started applying to schools. I didn’t feel that traditional medicine was going to satisfy my love for personal connection and health optimization. After visiting chiropractic schools, I learned that there were a lot more people out there with similar passions for helping others without drugs or surgery. I applied to chiropractic school immediately after visiting Life University in Marietta, Georgia.”
According to Dr. Alicia, the coolest thing she’s ever done is going sky diving by herself on a random Wednesday when she was 22! She also speaks Spanish. If she could have a dinner party, she would invite Kobe Bryant, Matthew McConaughey, Shane Gillis, and Shaquille O’Neal. She says, “I think this would be a dinner of insight, wisdom and laughs.”
What Dr. Alicia enjoys most about being a chiropractor is “Connecting with patients, building relationships, and watching their whole lives and attitudes get better once they’re feeling and functioning at their best!” Dr. Alicia’s personal motto is “You control your own destiny.”
Dr. Brian DeWilde was born and raised in Holland, Michigan. After graduating with honors from Michigan State University in 2017 and Life University - Marietta in 2021, he moved to Mesa in 2023. When Dr. Brian is not working, you can find him on the golf course, hiking with his dog, working out at the gym, or reading a good book. His personal motto would be “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” by Kobe Bryant.
Dr. Brian knew he wanted to be a chiropractor from the time he was 14 years old after a soccer injury put him in a thigh-high cast and a wheelchair for several months. Once he was finally able to have his cast removed, he went through months of physical therapy with very little function or range of motion in his right leg. His doctors told him he would never run or play sports again, but Dr. Brian was determined to prove them wrong. When a family friend suggested he try chiropractic, he figured he had nothing to lose. After just 2 adjustments, Dr. Brian was able to put weight on his leg and walk out of the office without his crutches.
From that moment forward, Dr. Brian knew he wanted to provide hope to people just as his chiropractor did for him. Dr. Brian is married to Dr. Alicia DeWilde. Together, they have a cat named Peach and a dog named Lemon. According to Dr.
Brian, the coolest thing he’s ever done is Hiked Machu Picchu in Peru to see the "Lost city of the Incas". This was preceded by a chiropractic mission trip where I and 11 other chiropractic students provided free chiropractic care to an impoverished community in the Peruvian city of Arequepa.”
In his opinion, the best thing about being a chiropractor is “Getting to know people from all walks of life and helping them reach their health goals through conservative movement-based care and holistic recommendations.”
