Meet The Doctors

Dr. Craig Ross, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Luke Air Force Base

Dr. Craig Ross became part of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021, where he does the work he finds so gratifying.

“I love being able to help people reach their true potential with chiropractic. I have a passion for healthcare to be as drug-free as possible,” he says. “In my 30+ years of practice, I have been able to meet and train great people from all over the world and share the ability to help people with just my hands.”

Dr. Ross -- or “Coach,” as some patients call him because of his coaching background -- is a product of Southern California’s San Fernando Valley and worked previously in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Sacramento, Calif.

Even though Dr. Ross is busy with his career and raising his grandkids, he still has time to play adult baseball with his brothers. He was engaged to his wife within six weeks of meeting in the 1980s and have been married ever since; his two older children (one of them a Navy veteran) are on a path to become nurses, and another who is a cartographer (a map maker). The family also includes a terrier named Sparky and pit bull named Queen.

He graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in physical education, including a secondary teaching credential for PE, before getting a doctorate of chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles.

“I first injured my back at 8 years old and had episodes throughout the years,” Dr. Ross says. “While I was studying physical education, I had a serious episode with my back. I made an appointment with a chiropractor; while explaining my injury to me, I had a light bulb moment when I thought, ‘I can do this.’ I was in the middle of my anatomy and physiology classes and it all made sense. Several years later, I was sitting in my first chiropractic class and haven’t looked back. I am a chiropractor 24/7. People apologize about asking me questions, but to me, being a chiropractor is not what I do, but who I am -- so ask away.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Ross says the one thing he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator is chocolate.

Having grown up in LA and working there, Dr. Ross has adjusted celebrities and been across the restaurant table from many people who are famous. “It was cool, but I believe the everyday heroes are the ones who fascinate me most,” he says. “Being at Luke Air Force Base allows me the honor of working with, and meeting, everyday heroes.”

Among the coolest things he has done, Dr. Ross hit a home run in the presence of 80 baseball scouts who were looking at scouting a start opponent player, and he went skydiving with his son. One other notable experience was training a husband and wife chiropractic team from San Jose who had 127 years of combined practice; they both had a connection with BJ Palmer, the developer of the field of chiropractic -- the woman was a babysitter and the man waxed Palmer’s circus wagon.

Dr. Levi Curran, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Luke Air Force Base

The Luke AFB clinic location is proud that Dr. Levi Curran joined its team in 2021 to provide important healthcare services to the local community.

“The best thing about being in the chiropractic field is improving the health of our patients in a safe and natural manner,” he says. "I believe proper structural alignment, which can be achieved through chiropractic, enhances the body’s function and, ultimately, a patient’s life.”

Dr. Curran grew up in Shullsburg, WI, and worked previously in Madison and Lake Geneva, WI. Perhaps, then, it’s no surprise that he loves the outdoors and in his spare time, he enjoys trail biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, mudding, hiking, and golfing.

He attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, before earning his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.

“I knew chiropractic was my calling when a sports injury I sustained sidelined me,” Dr. Curran says. “My medical provider prescribed me muscle relaxers and sent me on my way. My chiropractor gave me the care my body needed and not only got me back on the field but game-ready and pain-free.”

He is excited to work at the Luke Air Force Base clinic location. “It gives me an opportunity to give back to the ones who have already given so much for the rest of us,” he says.”I’m excited to serve the brave men and women of our beloved Luke Air Force Base.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Dr. Curran says the one thing he is never without at home is Silk Caramel Creamer: “Coffee is how I start off my mornings; can’t do this without a little flavor in my coffee.”

If he could bring together any four people from history for his ideal dinner party, Dr. Curran would include entrepreneur Elon Musk, "because his imagination and ideas are limitless,” football player Cam Newton “for his vibe and energy,” comedian Robin Williams “for his ability to make people laugh,” and comedian Tim Allen “because of his impact on my childhood through his ability to act.”

Dr. Curran says the coolest thing he has done is make the move from Wisconsin to Arizona. “Arizona, to me, was always a place that I could only think of as a vacation,” he says. “Well, now I am vacationing every day.”

Dr. Shannon Kennedy, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Luke Air Force Base

Dr. Shannon Kennedy joined The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2020, and in 2022 began serving residents at the Luke Air Force Base clinic location, where she follows her passion for helping people.

“The thing I love most about being in the chiropractic field is watching people’s health transform,” she says. “It’s so rewarding to educate people about their own bodies and help them preserve their health.”

A product of the Kansas City area, Dr. Kennedy enjoys baking, hiking, researching nutrition and health issues, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.

A graduate of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, she attended Palmer College of Chiropractic to earn her doctorate of chiropractic.

“My family and I have been receiving chiropractic care since I was in middle school and I was fascinated by how it made us all feel great,” she says.

In Case You Didn’t Know

When it comes to cool accomplishments, it’s hard to beat Dr. Kennedy -- in more ways than one. “I was a world champion Soapbox Derby racer in high school,” she says. “I still keep in touch with the many friends I made along the way.”

If she could bring together any four people from history for her ideal dinner party, she would send invitations to Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart “because they are thought-provoking goofballs, especially together; it would be a hilarious time.” She would also include Lady Gaga, “a talented, selfless humanitarian; also, people tell me we share similar features.” She wouldn’t miss the chance to sit down with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes “because he is a class act with astronomic talent, ability, and potential.”

Dr. Kennedy says the one thing she always keeps stocked in her refrigerator is oatmilk: “It’s delicious.”

Dr. Patrick Bradley, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Luke Air Force Base

Dr. Patrick S. Bradley came to the Luke AFB clinic location of The Joint Chiropractic team in 2022, where he enjoys the role of local healthcare provider in the Glendale area and does the work he finds so fulfilling.

“The best thing about being in chiropractic is helping patients reach their goal,” he says. “When patients reach their goals it validates my decision to become a chiropractor. The other thing I love is the patient interaction; I’m a people person and I enjoy talking with, and educating, patients.”

Dr. Patrick, as his patients call him, grew up in Southern California and has worked previously in Peoria and Avondale. He and his wife, an elementary school teacher who loves kids, have been married for more than 25 years. They have two daughters, one attending Northern Arizona University, and the other a high school volleyball and track and field athlete. In his spare time, he likes to ride his ATV.

He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, where he earned his doctorate, after earning a BBA in economics from University of San Diego.

Dr. Patrick knew chiropractic was his calling after a car accident left him injured but he found relief from a chiropractor. “This is what ultimately led to my decision to become a chiropractor,” he says. And it was that decision that led him to one of his most memorable experiences as a DC. “I took thoracic X-rays on a patient and found that he had cancer,” he says. “Because I caught it in time, he was able to receive treatment and ultimately became cancer-free.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

If Dr. Patrick could bring together any four people from history for his ideal dinner party, he would include Ronald Reagan, Wyatt Earp, Harriet Tubman, and Albert Einstein. “Reagan was the greatest president, in my opinion, and Earp was a badass,” he says. “I would love to hear how Tubman gathered the courage to do what she did as the conductor of the Underground Railroad, and how Einstein developed the theory of relativity.”

His favorite author is Clive Cussler and has spread “more than 20 of his great adventure stories.”

Among his favorite memories is when his father taught him how to fish a river. “I still fish the same spot in Colorado whenever we go to our cabin,” Dr. Patrick says. “He taught me how to read a river and where the best spots to fly fish are going to be. I look at things logically and this really had an impact on me. I love fly fishing and knowing exactly where the fish are.”
