Stop Doing That! Things the Chiropractor Doesn't Like
By Brandi Goodman
Knowing what things specifically not to do can be just as helpful as knowing which things to do. Your chiropractor doesn't like it when you follow certain unhealthy habits that can make it more difficult for you to continue on the path toward better health. Stop doing these things and improve your well-being because of it.
Stop Sitting on Your Wallet
This one's for men, in particular. Lots of guys put their wallets in their back pockets and leave them there for the entire day. You end up sitting in chairs, in the vehicle, on the couch, and everywhere else with a lump in your seat. This might not seem like a big deal, but it can actually place enough unbalance on your spine that damage can be caused. Take the wallet out when you're about to sit or start keeping it in a front pocket instead.
Stop Avoiding What Your Body Is Trying to Tell You
Your body usually gives you signs regarding what you need -- yet too many people avoid listening. Don't avoid what your body is trying to tell you and use it to your advantage instead. When you're feeling sore or tired, don't try to push yourself. Your body may be telling you it needs rest. Perhaps you've been dizzy lately, have dry skin, and aren't urinating often. Your body might be letting you know it's time to drink more water. There's always signs to watch for.
Stop Skimping on Sleep
Too many people have become reliant on caffeine. Energy drinks and coffee beverages are seen on lots of workers' desks. People often resort to this because they aren't getting enough sleep. Skip these drinks and stop skimping on sleep and you'll feel better overall. Your body needs adequate sleep to function well and feel good. You're more likely to feel stressed, get sick, and experience pain when you aren't getting enough rest at night. Find a sleep routine that works for you and get the Zzz's you need.
