Three Easy DIY Fixes for A Sore Neck

Here are some easy ways to relieve neck pain yourself with DIY massage tips. All you need is a firm ball, such as a tennis ball and a few minutes to feel amazing again.

Neck Self-Massage

Ever wake up with a stiff neck or have a hard time turning your neck? If the answer is yes, then  you may wan to grab a tennis ball and place it in the crook of your neck, which is where your neck, upper back, and shoulder meet. Firmly place the tennis ball on any knots, holding until you feel the tension release. You can also gently roll the tennis ball along knots or sore areas.

Upper Back Massage

Your neck pain could be stemming from upper back pain. One remedy to help alleviate the pain is to simply stand with your rear against the wall. Place a tennis ball between the top of your right shoulder and your spine. Next, you will want to lean back slightly so that the wall is holding up the ball against your upper shoulder. Next, just gently rotate your arm to initiate the ball massage. You can move the ball over to your left upper shoulder to massage that side after.

Neck and Chest Stretch

This stretch will feel amazing when you need to feel better after a few hours of working. Simply stand up and clasp your hands behind your back. Gently look up and pull your arms back, so that your chest can open up. Hold for 20-30 seconds and repeat several times throughout the day.

While these three massage techniques feel amazing and can relieve pain, they shouldn't be your only source for pain relief.
