Making Chiropractic Care a New Year's Resolution
By Brandi Swieter
Many people say they want to lose weight, quit smoking, or make more money in the new year. While these resolutions are great to have, they’re not the only ones available. Chiropractic care should also be on the list, as the service brings many benefits to both the mind and body that people should take advantage of as the year commences.
Correcting Misalignments
The body cannot bend, twist, and move optimally if the spine is out of alignment. A restriction, commonly called a misalignment, can cause discomfort and a decrease in mobility, making it important to fix. Throughout the year, various tasks and stresses cause certain vertebrae in the spine to shift out of place. Getting regular adjustments from a doctor of chiropractic will help to ease pain and settle the problems that sink in during particular occasions.
Improving Overall Health
Pain within the body can make it difficult for people to function in life. Anyone who noticed an increase in pain in the past year may want to make chiropractic care a resolution for 2018 -- even though we're a few weeks into the year -- so this pain can be eliminated. It will improve overall health, such as making it easier to sleep and potentially decreasing feelings of stress and depression, and giving people the energy to get out and do more of the other resolutions they set out to accomplish. Improved health allows people to truly feel the “new year, new me” attitude.
Catching Problems Before They Arise
With regular visits with a doctor of chiropractic, people receiving an adjustment may be able to find problems before they truly turn into a problem. The doctor may notice an abnormality and warn the patient so they can have it addressed by the appropriate party. With visits once a month or more, it may be easier for this doctor to notice something that's "off" rather than a physician seen once a year for a quick exam. Patients who see a chiropractor a few times a week for an actual treatment instead of preventative care are even more likely to have an issue addressed if it happens to come up.
With regular chiropractic care on the resolutions list, more and more people can get the adjustments they need to get their backs in order. Visit The Joint Chiropractic for an initial consultation and continue going regularly throughout the year to stick to the resolution you set for 2018. It will improve overall health and well-being.
