Chiropractic Advice for Pain-Free Feet

Many people complain about their aching feet. Whether they’ve walked a long ways, they’ve had to stand all day, or their shoes are too tight, people often say their feet hurt and feel sore at day's end. To keep the feet pain-free, some chiropractic advice should always be followed.

Wear the Right Size Shoes

Shoes that cause pain should never be worn. If they’re too large or too small they can rub on the feet and cause blisters. Too small shoes are often the biggest struggle as people try to squeeze their feet inside on old pair of shoes that no longer fit. These restrict blood flow and cause pain quickly. Wearing comfortable shoes that are the right size is the best thing a person can do for their feet.

Find Shoes With Stiff Soles

Stiff soles are the best option for shoes. The stiffness takes the brunt of the impact from a hard surface, such as when you’re walking along the sidewalk or on a road. With a soft sole, that impact would be put on the feet instead, leading to leg and even back pain. A shoe that can be folded easily is not stiff enough and should not be worn. This puts many pairs of sandals out of the question.

Pick Shoes That Feel Comfortable Immediately

Some people believe they can break in their shoes. They may feel uncomfortable the first few times wearing them, but they will start to feel fine after those initial tries. These shoes are clearly not a good fit for the feet and should not be worn at all. From the first time shoes are put on the feet, they should feel comfortable and ready to wear. Breaking in shoes is never necessary. A different style or size is often the better option.

Try Some Foot Exercises

Not many people think to exercise their feet, but doing so can actually be a huge help. The feet need exercise too in order to remain in optimal condition and stay pain-free. Start by sitting in a chair and placing the feet flat on the floor. Raise up the toes and feet until only the heels remain on the ground. Curl the toes under and lower the feet. Even just stretching out the big toe can do a lot of good. Keeping the feet well exercised and performing some stretches will help prevent injuries and pain to the area.

The feet feel pain often, yet many people don’t do much to change it. Watching what type of shoes are worn is one of the best things people can do to prevent aching arches.
