Consider Chiropractic Tips for the Holidays
By Brandi Goodman
The holiday season is a time of cheer, but it's also a time of worry. Many people fear they won't get everything on their list done and stress over all they have to accomplish. It can also be a time of pain as all of the associated tasks require effort that is sometimes too much for the body. Keep some chiropractic tips in mind to make the most of the holidays.
Gift Yourself Chiropractic
The holidays can be extremely stressful. You may experience pain simply from all the stress and tension that builds in your body. Gift yourself chiropractic so you can de-stress and have time away from your to-do list.
Pack Travel Essentials
Perhaps you're planning on traveling during the holidays. Be sure to pack the travel essentials that will make the trip easier to handle. A neck pillow is necessary if you'll have to sleep during the duration and a lumbar support pillow is ideal to place behind your back. You're likely to experience stiffness in your back and neck without them. You also want to take regular breaks so you can get out and stretch often.
Take Breaks While Shopping
Whether you plan on going out on Black Friday and finding sales or you're simply heading to the mall and hitting all the best shops, it isn't wise to stay on the go. You need to take breaks while shopping so you don't overexert yourself. Find a bench or table to sit at every 20 to 30 minutes so you can rest your legs and give yourself some time to recover.
Don't Carry Your Tree on Your Back
You often see dads in movies picking up a Christmas tree and placing it over their backs as they lug it to their vehicles and throw it on the top of the car. This practice should never be followed in real life. It's best to have at least two people carry a heavy Christmas tree from the lot to the car and again into the house. Bend at your knees and lift with your legs rather than using your back if you want to avoid pain.
