Chiropractic Tips for Fighting Back Pain Daily

By Brandi Goodman

Too many people suffer from daily back pain and other aches that make it difficult to get up and moving when necessary. If you're among those who find themselves struggling, it's time to make some changes. With some chiropractic tips in mind, you can fight back pain daily and work to keep it at bay.

Maintain Your Posture

Slouching, standing to the side, and hunching over are all surefire ways to end up with chronic pain. You need to maintain your posture if you have any hope of preventing back pain from plaguing you. Make sure you're standing or sitting upright with your head up and looking forward. Don't look down at a device or lean to one side.

Skip the Skinny Jeans and High Heels

If you find yourself wearing skinny jeans that are tight or high heels that angle your feet -- don't! Both of these things interfere with your ability to maintain proper posture. You should be wearing clothes and shoes that fit comfortably and are neither too small or tight nor too large or loose.

Carry a Messenger Bag or Backpack

Most large purses and heavy briefcases weigh you down on one side. This can throw off your posture and cause pain in your back, hips, and shoulders. You should be carrying a messenger back or backpack instead if you really need one. Make sure weight is distributed evenly inside the backpack, and switch sides often with the messenger bag.

Try More Back and Core Exercises

You need to work on strengthening your back and core if you hope to get rid of back pain. Try more back and core exercises that will help you develop the important muscles in these areas that can help keep you upright on your feet and balanced. Start simple, trying moves such as the bridge, before working your way up to more difficult options.

See a Chiropractor

Chronic back pain may be diminished with a few tricks, but it most likely won't go away altogether without fully addressing the problem. You should see a chiropractor if you're struggling with daily back pain so you can have an assessment completed. The chiropractor will be able to provide some additional tips and tricks for how to ease your discomfort and get your back, back in order.

Always do what you can to live a healthy lifestyle so you can prevent as much discomfort in your day as possible. With these tips in mind and regular chiropractic care, you should be able to return to a nearly painless life -- at least most of the time.
