Get Your Child Checked: Chiropractic Care For Kids in Tucson

As a child, check ups are pretty standard and occur quite frequently. Everything from the dentist, the general practitioner to the optometrist. Unfortunately for the spinal and postural health of many children, the regular visit to the chiropractor isn't always on the list. Spinal check ups are actually essential for small children, especially because of the major growth spurts they go through while still so young. These check ups can detect many issues before they become too big, specifically the blockage of nerves. In fact, having your child undergo a spinal check-up could be the most important early check up your child will ever get.

The condition of the spine determines future health for any child; because the spinal cord, which contains billions of nerves that send messages throughout the body from the brain, is the overall in charge of relaying and receiving of information within the body. Problems with the spine can be precursors to other illnesses and can sometimes be a sign of an underlying condition that your child might be suffering now or will acquire in the future.

If there is blockage of the nerves in the spinal cord, then a disease state is developed. This means that the body is in a state in which there is disharmony in one’s body. Disease state in children typically shows itself in signs of fatigue and a weakened immune system. Because the body is still developing, there are many stages in a child’s life where he or she could develop disease. Proper alignment of the spine results in a higher functioning immune and central nervous system. This increases the likelihood that a child will remain healthy.

The misalignment and tiny fixations in the spinal vertebrae is usually the cause of blockage of nerves in the area of the spinal column. These nerve blockages are known as vertebral subluxations. The child’s spine can lose its natural alignment and damage its growth further in life.

The first possible vertebral subluxation can occur during their baby’s stage or during their delivery stage. The injury to the spine of the baby can be caused by a difficult delivery, which causes too much stress on the baby’s body. Difficult deliveries are known to cause some health problems during the infant stage. Another stage in which nerve blockage can occur is during the early childhood stage. This is the stage where the child engages in very physical activities as he or she learns to crawl, walk, and use fine motor skills more. This is the time where running, jumping, accidents, and falls often happen more frequently. As normal s these things are for a child that is developing, they can also be the cause of nerve damage and spinal misalignments that could lead to serious consequences later on.

Even as children enter early adolescence things like heavy backpacks that they carry could also cause spine misalignment because of the stress it puts on the back of the child. Therefore, it is important to have children undergo a regular spinal check-ups in order to avoid back pains and to detect any problems related to the spine. The correction of vertebral subluxation and blockage of nerves reduces the stress on the whole body. If left untreated, there are many other health problems related to the nervous systems that can occur, such as anxiety, asthma, inability to focus or concentrate and hyperactivity.
