Chiropractic Care Can Solve Your Back Pain
By Alexis Mills
Even though some people are still not convinced that chiropractic care works, it can be an effective treatment. Studies have shown how effective it can be, especially for back pain. So, if you are experiencing any type of back pain, it is time to walk in to The Joint Chiropractic.
Here's Your Proof
In a study released in 2018, the JAMA Network focused on the U.S. military and concluded those who used both chiropractic care and tradition medical care had the best results for relief from pain compared to those who only had traditional care. Since low back pain is one of the leading causes of disability among people in the U.S. military, this is a key finding.
Let's break it down a little bit more. This study took place between 2012-16 when a research team evaluated the effect of chiropractic care with 750 active-duty U.S. military members. The participants were put into two groups; one group received traditional only while the other received traditional care and chiropractic care for back pain. The traditional care included medication while the chiropractic care included spinal adjustments, manual therapies, and rehabilitative exercises. After six weeks, those who received the full complement of care reported greater cessation of pain and disability compared to the group that only had traditional care. While this finding does help the military realize how it can help its people manage their back pain, the relevance is universal: this is something that pertains to everyone with back pain. It proved how beneficial chiropractic care can be to manage people's pain.
What You Can Expect at the Chiropractor
Chiropractic care is a natural way to receive care. A chiropractor will start off by getting your health background and history, and then perform an examination. If needed, the chiropractor will perform a chiropractic adjustment or different stretches delivered by the hand. Through this treatment chiropractors are enabling the body to heal itself by restoring joints, and the central nervous system, to its optimal working condition. Basically, the body is prepped so that it can heal itself.
As far as back pain, the military study proves chiropractic care is effective to treat the pain in your back and allow the patient to function better in daily life. If you are looking to transform your back -- or your health in general -- don't settle for the typical traditional care; instead, include routine chiropractic care. You will thank yourself for treating the underlying issues that will help the symptoms dissipate for good.
