Chiropractic Care for Parents
By Paul Rothbart
Being a parent is a full-time job and then some. Earning a living sufficient to support children while guiding them through the trials and tribulations of growing up, and doing your best to see that they become responsible adults and good citizens is an incredible task. It will frequently wear you down. The physical and mental toll is high and parents can use some extra help. Especially mothers, whose job starts during pregnancy. One excellent potential source of help is chiropractic care. Whether you're expecting or raising your brood a chiropractor may become a welcome addition to your medical team.
Being pregnant is an uplifting yet draining experience. The extra weight of a growing fetus puts an additional strain on the body, especially the spine. The woman's body becomes front-loaded and off-balance which can cause problems with vertebrae such as subluxations. Headaches are also frequent during pregnancy and it can be difficult to sleep. A chiropractor can fix spine and joint problems with adjustments. Many headaches caused by neck issues are common with pregnancies. Chiropractic adjustments can relieve those too.
Mothers With Children
Giving birth and all it entails is just a prelude to motherhood. Now comes the next 18 or so years. During the infant and toddler years, carrying children, picking them up to put them in highchairs and car seats is a frequent task. Kids can be heavy and are always growing. Most mothers also work a full-time job, There's the stress of worrying about the kids. They get sick, they have injuries, and they may have some troubles in school. Chiropractic care can help with the pains caused by raising children and many patients find that they manage stress better when receiving regular treatment. That's something every parent can use.
Fathers don't directly experience pregnancy and childbirth but they do have worries about their mate and the fetus. When the baby is born, fathers also help with the childcare while working a job. Lifting and carrying the kids also falls to dads and they certainly worry about their share in supporting the family financially and emotionally. Male parents can benefit from chiropractic care just as much as mothers. Carrying children can cause spine and joint issues for men too and they definitely are helped by better stress management.
Parenting can be rewarding and has many moments of joy. It is a big responsibility and certainly not easy on the mind or body. Consider a visit to The Joint Chiropractic. You don't need an appointment. Mothers and fathers may find that seeing a chiropractor helps out when the going gets tough.
