For a Workout, Use Time Wisely

By Tom Herrin

Time is one of those things there never seems to be enough of.  There are so many demands in daily life that someone may find themselves in a constant hurry to accomplish even the smallest of tasks.  If they are concerned about getting any exercise, this can be even more difficult.  Feeling the need to go through a full session often weighs on the mind with the idea that less is a compromise of commitment.  It really doesn't have to be the case.  Setting goals may be a more efficient way of actually doing what they set out to do with their program.

Minutes of Running Can Do Good Things

Many people enjoy running.  It can be relaxing as well as provide a sense of getting somewhere.  For those who are caught between wanting the full feeling and needing to save time someplace in their schedule, they can still run for fewer minutes and support their health.  According to information provided by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, a few good minutes per day of running can help to build a defense against the effects of heart disease.  It was stated that people who run seven minutes per day may have a 45 percent less chance of death from heart disease.  This may be a great investment of time for so much return.

Indoor Biking Can Yield Good Results

Not everyone is fired up about running.  For them, a good option may be riding some kind of exercise bike.  It may be done in a controlled environment that is free from the effects of the elements.  Studies have shown that those who do this for 10 minutes per day are happier and better able to perform various mental tasks.  Health and happiness seem to go hand-in-hand.  When people feel better about themselves, they are often able to do more.  It may be a good investment of time for those who are looking to save some.

Personalize Your Workout

There is no reason to feel as if you have to fit into a certain mold as far as time is concerned.  Doing what you can is much better than doing nothing, but there are times in which doing a small amount may be even better than the whole thing.  If this frees up time as well as building health, it may be a winning situation all the way around.
