3 Fitness Tips for the Super Lazy

By Genevieve Cunningham

No one really likes to be called lazy, but we all know deep down whether we have actual excuses standing in the way of our fitness, or if it’s just a little case of laziness. If you have this problem, don’t fret; everyone experiences this sort of problem from time to time. We get a little bit unmotivated, and before you know it, working out is a serious chore that we just don’t feel like doing. To beat laziness and get your fitness back on track, take a look at these three tips for those who can’t seem to find that self-motivation.

Use Frozen Foods

Whether you buy frozen fruits and veggies, or you have enough energy to cook healthy meals and put them in the freezer, this saves a lot of time and may keep you from reaching for that unhealthy dinner. The easier it is to eat a healthy dinner at the end of the day, the more likely you are to do it. Don’t try to cook organic, fresh, made from scratch meals if you know you’re not ready for that. Buy healthy options that are quick and easy, and only get more complicated when you are ready.

Sleep in Your Workout Outfit

This might seem a little strange at first blush, but workout clothes tend to be really comfy! And chances are good that you’ll need a shower after your workout anyway, so what will it hurt? This literally allows you to roll out of bed and begin your workout. No excuses, no stress, and no reason to back out. If you really want to get that workout over with early in the morning, give this plan a try and see how it goes.

Use Really Satisfying Rewards

Sometimes bribing yourself is the best way to go about getting started on your fitness journey. But if you’re already a little on the lazy side, you have to make the reward really good. And it might help to get others involved. Change the Netflix password, give it to your significant other, and don’t let them give it back to you until you’ve completed a certain set of goals. Buy yourself that new pair of shoes or jeans or dresses, and then lock them away until a goal has been met. Don’t be ashamed either; sometimes this is the only way to get yourself moving, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Getting fit is possible for everyone, even those who suffer from a bit of a lazy attitude. It just takes a slightly different approach and some creative ideas to get yourself moving. Use these tips to start your fitness journey, and you’ll be on the road to better health in no time.
