3 Everyday Things That Are Taking Your Energy

By Genevieve Cunningham

Most adults in the modern world understand what it's like to lack energy. As a society, we seem to be busier and more worn out than ever before. We extend ourselves to the max, and taking days off feels like a big time no-no. But even beyond working too much and being so busy, we're actually exhausting ourselves with some of our everyday habits. We're using devices and practicing habits that are completely zapping our energy. If you want to correct this part of your life and start living with more energy every day, take a look at these three things that are zapping your energy so you can make adjustments today.

Your Electronics

Electronics can be so incredibly wearing. The screen, the light, the constant stimulation. It's exhausting. And unfortunately, most of us are spending more time than ever before on some sort of electronics. If you spend a lot of time on a phone, computer, or in front of a television, you can probably bet that it contributes significantly to your exhaustion.

Your Shoes

It's amazing how much of an effect the state of your feet has on how you feel. If your feet are exhausted, you're going to feel drained. And it's more likely that your feet feel exhausted if you wear shoes that aren't supportive. Heels, flip-flops, sandals, wedges. Any of these can strain your feet, tire your back, and completely zap your energy. The cure? Make sure that your shoes offer both looks as well as comfort and support.

Your Job

You already know this. A job is necessary, but it's also incredibly exhausting. This is more likely to be the case if you work long hours, in tough conditions, or if you dislike your job. The job takes all of your mental and physical energy, and you're left with next to nothing at the end of the day. While some people may be able to correct this issue by getting a job they enjoy, others may need to improve their sleeping habits, request better working conditions, or adjust their mental health habits in regards to work.

It's hard to completely lack energy. It's hard to go through the day when you wake up tired. If you've noticed a decline in your energy, look to see if any of these issues are happening in your life. If so, make the adjustments necessary to quit the bad habits, regain your energy, and feel better than ever in no time at all.
