Rosemary May Be a Natural for Your Allergies
By Tom Herrin
If you are into trying new things to help support your health, you may want to look at the spice aisle at the store. For many of us, it may be the last place we would consider looking for something that could positively impact our health. Many people have used spices as part of their traditional home remedies to avoid relying on a trip to the pharmacy. As we have learned more from research, some of these remedies have proven to be more successful than we may have thought.
Garlic Has Been Used for Years
Many cultures have used garlic as a healing spice for a long time. It has been recognized as something to fight infections. It has also been recognized for its ability to support the health of the heart and circulatory system. It seems to help with lowering cholesterol as well as treatment for various illnesses such as colds. Studies have shown that it may lower blood pressure, and one study indicated that it might be as effective as medications used to treat it.
Peppermint Gets My Vote
Anytime I have stomach issues, I use peppermint. It seems to help to soothe many problems. It has even been thought to help with irritable bowel syndrome pain. Many restaurants serve peppermints with meals. I may use either soft peppermints or drink peppermint teas whenever I feel somewhat sick to my stomach. According to some studies, peppermint is very effective when used as part of aromatherapy treatments. For the most part, peppermint is a pretty mild spice that may yield some consistent results.
Rosemary May Be a Different Spice for You
Many times of the year, lots of us suffer from allergies. It can be a constant battle and make us feel miserable. Even when taking some kind of medication for it, the results may be the same. Apparently, rosemary can help with the body's response to some allergens. According to one study, when using the primary ingredient found in rosemary, the number of immune cells decreased, and there was less congestion. As much difficulty as some of us have with allergies, if a spice can help this, it may be worth trying. I know that when I have allergies, I would be willing to try almost anything to help.
