4 Things to Remember About the Scale

There's no denying the fact that maintaining a healthy weight is important to the overall health of your body. Too much fat or not enough fat can be detrimental to your health, but it's also important not to obsess over it. Use your scale as a guide, but don't let it run the show. Before you get too worked up over your scale, take a look at these four things to remember.
Weigh at the Same Time Every Day
Your weight will fluctuate all day everyday. You may weigh four pounds heavier at night than you do in the morning. If you're trying to keep track of your fitness using a scale, make sure that you weigh at the same time everyday. This will give you a more accurate depiction of what your health and fitness level really are.
Remember That All Scales Differ
If you weigh yourself at home and then weigh yourself at a friend's house, it's likely that the two numbers will be different. Unless they are drastically different, don't fret. Scales tend to be different even when weighing the same person. If you want to keep good track, just use the same scale everyday and don't deviate. This will keep you from worrying about slight discrepancies between different scales.
Scales Don't Tell It All
While a scale can be a great guide, just remember that it doesn't tell the whole picture. Scales can't tell you your body fat percentage, how much muscle you have, or the state of your overall health. It's just a number. There's something about weighing yourself that gets into your head. that number dangles there making you feel inadequate. But keep in mind that the number on the scale is not you. Don't let it defeat you or get in the way of making progress. As long as you keep that in mind, that number can help you move forward and get into the best shape of your life.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to lose fat and sculpture body. There's nothing wrong with using the scale as a guide to help you do this. But before you obsess over that number, make sure that you keep these four things in mind.
