Jogging: 3 Tips to Help You Enjoy It

Do you ever find yourself in awe of those who can run for hours on end? I do, and have tried to mimic the workout but rarely make it without questioning my sanity. Like many, I would love to learn to enjoy a nice long jog without the feeling of keeling over. Fitness gurus have offered several tips to help those, like me, who would like to learn to enjoy a nice, long jog. Some of these tips include:
- Find good music for your journey
- Start jogging with a short distance
- Find a buddy who is willing to join you on the journey
Find Good Music for Your Journey
One of the biggest factors to keep you going on a trail is good music. No matter what your favorite genre may be to jam to in the car, it may not be the best for pounding the pavement. Look for music with a good beat. Find songs with words to inspire you to push through. The best way to find the right tunes for you is trial and error. It may take you a few laps around the track to determine your best music, but you will get there.
Start Jogging with a Short Distance
There is not a fitness professional in the industry who would have you begin by starting with a five-mile jog. It is more important that you begin with small times; maybe you are someone who begins with a five-minute jog. Once you have mastered this, consider increasing your time by one minute each time you are ready for more. If you are a mileage person you may want to begin with one mile, then add a quarter mile as you are ready to increase the distance. The most important thing is that you do not increase your mileage or time too quickly as it can promote injury.
Find a Buddy Who is Willing to Join You on the Journey
Another way to learn to enjoy jogging is to take a buddy along. Having a buddy there encouraging you along the way when you want to give up most is a great way to keep moving. Likewise, you will be that motivator for your friend as well. Hard battles are always fought best with a friend who can help you along your way
Learning to jog will not be an easy task. However, with the right tips, the right help, and friends involved you can't be successful. This can be a long journey; however, with determination you will be loving to jog before you know it. Now get out there, find your trail and get to moving to your own beat.
