Chiropractic Care Can Help with RA Pain

By Stephen R. Farris

If you're between the ages of 30 and 50, one day you're feeling fine, then the next, not so great. However, you try to shake it off but that rundown, fatigued feeling doesn't seem to want to go away. You also start feeling pain or stiffness in your joints, and notice redness, and/or, tenderness associated with the joint stiffness.

You could be developing early signs of rheumatoid arthritis, or more commonly referred to as RA.

RA, according to studies, occurs more in women for some reason, than men. It's an invisible chronic disease that can strike at any time, to anyone. RA is not just limited to the 30 to 50 age group; it can happen earlier or later.

People with RA may find it harder to do certain things like they normally could, such as:

  • Finding it longer to complete tasks due to feelings of fatigue
  • Forget things more often
  • Sleep longer than usual
  • The need to rest for long periods after a day out
  • Losing weight, even though they're not trying to

It's also possible for people with RA to have other autoimmune conditions such as lupus, and fibromyalgia.

Exercise can help people who have RA, but you should talk with your primary care physician and/or chiropractor before starting. They can tell you if you're healthy enough to begin an exercise routine. While exercise can be important for people with RA, getting proper rest is just as important.

If your exercise routine leads to increased pain, it's a good idea to take a day of rest in between workouts in order to keep inflammation at a minimum.

Another great way to get relief from the pain of RA, is to visit your local chiropractor. Doctors of chiropractic use a technique called chiropractic adjustment, a gentle, hands-on, all-natural, non-invasive, and non-addictive method to reduce joint restrictions and misalignments in the spine, to help reduce inflammation, while improving joint mobility and nervous system function.

Chiropractic treatment is an all-natural way to get relief from pain, since it doesn't involve prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs.

If you're starting to feel symptoms of RA, or have been diagnosed with the chronic condition, take time to visit with your local chiropractor today, such as the ones that can be found at The Joint Chiropractic. With over 600 nationwide locations, there's probably one near you. And the great thing is, you don't even have to set up an appointment to see one of their doctors of chiropractic. Just walk right in and ask for a consultation to start your journey towards the natural way for pain relief.
