How to Find a Little More Time in Your Day

By Genevieve Cunningham

It seems like everyone is looking for one thing in life: more time. Sure, we're looking for success and good health and friendship. But overall, we just want more time to experience all the good parts of life. Of course, more time is the one thing that is nearly impossible to find. You don't even have enough time to carry out normal tasks, right? Who has time for fun? But finding a little more time in your day is possible. It just takes some planning and creativity. If you need to find more time in your day, take a look at these tips to help you make it happen.

Cut Stuff Out

Sounds impossible, I know. But the truth is that so many of us waste a lot of our time. Or we fill our time with useless things to do. How many hours do you spend watching TV? How many hours do you spend on your phone? If you're serious about gaining more time in your life, cut back on these. Stay off of social media -- which is the ultimate time killer! If you cut out the fluff, you'll have more time to do the things you need, plus quite a few of the things you want too.

Ask For Help

You don't have to do it all alone. There's no reason to think this way. If you want more time, ask other people for help. Ask for help shuffling your kids to events and practices. Ask for help at work when you're out of time. Ask for help at your house. And if you can't find good free help, hire someone! Help makes a huge difference in how much time we have to ourselves every day. Use your resources to free up the most important resource: time.

Wake Up Earlier

Time is time, right? What does it matter whether we wake up early or stay up late? While some people may truly work better at a certain time of day, research suggests that early birds get more done. They really do get the worm. When we wake up early, it gets our minds and bodies moving. We get out of the house sooner. We get more done before noon than those who do not get up early. It can be hard to make this transition, but it's worth it! Wake up earlier and you may find more time waiting for you.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. The key is to use it wisely. How are you using yours? Assess yourself. Make changes. Do what needs to be done to find more time and live your life more fully. With some small changes, you may find more time and more health and happiness than ever before in your life.
