Signs It's Time for Change in Your Life

By Genevieve Cunningham

Everyone experiences changes in life. As we grow and learn, things evolve … we evolve. Sometimes the change happens to us, and other times we force the changes on purpose. But sometimes we seem to get stuck in a rut. It can be difficult to know when it's time to change again. We get comfortable with the routine, and we sometimes fight the inevitable. But if we want to continue to grow and learn throughout our lives, then it's important to know the signs for making yet another change. If you're feeling a bit stuck or like it might be time to shake it up, take a look at these signs that making a change is in your near future.

You’re Growing Bored

A little bit of boredom is OK. It forces us to think outside of the box and find something to do with our time. But sometimes, boredom creeps up on us in a way that causes problems. Maybe you feel bored at work. Maybe you feel bored at home. Or maybe it's a combination of all of it. If you can feel yourself growing bored with the day-to-day routine, it might be time to change it up a bit. You can do this by taking on more responsibility, checking out a new hobby, or changing your schedule. If you feel that uneasy bored feeling starting to grow, start preparing yourself to make those changes that can help you find happiness again.

You’re Daydreaming More Than Working

Everyone daydreams. We like to think about what might be or what could have been. But if you find that you're daydreaming more than experiencing the reality of life, then maybe it's time to make some of those daydreams happen. Maybe it's time to go back to school or get a new job. Daydreaming helps us imagine a life in the future, generally a better life. If your daydreaming is causing problems and getting in the way of life, it's probably time to choose one of those dreams and make it as much of a reality as you possibly can.

You’re Feeling Restless

Restlessness is a symptom. And it's usually a symptom of unfulfillment. If you're beginning to feel restless in your life, it might be time to find some self satisfaction. This could be found in a million different ways. You have to find what is the most satisfying for you. It may be something you want to accomplish, or something you want to experience. If that restless feeling is growing in your life, take some time to find a new goal and begin working toward it today.

Change is inevitable. Even though it can be scary, change can also be really good for us. And at times, we should make changes happen on purpose and by design. If you notice any of these symptoms creeping up in your life, it might be time to consider making a significant change. With a positive attitude and some self-awareness, you can make changes that improve your life and make you feel happier than ever before.
