Three Different Kinds of Stress and Chiropractic Care
By Randi Morse
Stress is so common that it is something we tend to completely ignore. We are all used to being under stress, so much so that it feels strange to relax. While it is completely common, that doesn't mean it is healthy. Stress can do a great deal of damage to your body in a variety of ways. Let's talk about the three main types of stress and how chiropractic care can help.
Mental Stress
This type of stress is created because of our own thoughts. How many times have you worried over something so much so that you actually feel physically ill? Mental stress can affect your body in many ways, including causing headaches, neck pain, and upper and lower back pain. An excessive amount of stress can even cause problems with the respiratory system. One of the difficult things about dealing with mental stress is that it is very hard to learn how to prevent the events occurring around you from causing stress.
Physical Stress
This type of stress is often the result of some sort of injury. For example, maybe you were moving boxes and twisted the wrong way, or maybe you were playing sports and got injured. Unnatural movement puts forces on the spine that it isn't designed to handle.
Chemical Stress
Have you ever had to deal with food poisoning? It's exceedingly unpleasant, but it's a great way to understand chemical stress. Basically, when your body, especially your stomach, becomes unbalanced due to some sort of toxification, signals are sent to your brain relaying that your body is dealing with a chemical stress.
Chiropractors and Stress
There are a number of things that chiropractic care can do to help someone who is dealing with mental, physical, or chemical stress. If you are dealing with physical or mental stress, a professional chiropractic adjustment can help alleviate any pain that you may be feeling while also helping to restore proper function to the body by repairing any joint restrictions that may have occurred while your body was dealing with stress.
The chiropractors at The Joint Chiropractic understand that dealing with stress is annoying, and they can use different techniques to help lower your body's stress level. The Joint Chiropractic keeps open office hours and affordable rates to ensure that every citizen has a chance to experience the difference that chiropractic care can make to your life.
