Improve Focus With These Tips
By Stepy Kamei
We've all had the experience of dealing with so-called "brain fog." It's the feeling you get in which you find it difficult to focus and concentrate on any particular task in front of you. It's a general sense of fatigue and tiredness, but not necessarily being outright sleepy. Having a foggy brain can really get in the way of having a productive day, so it's good to know what you can do to not only combat the symptoms as they're happening, but to prevent them from being a problem to begin with. Living a healthy lifestyle by incorporating habits into your routine that can improve brain function can be a great way to banish brain fog for good.
Keep Up With Hydration
Many people are often surprised to hear from their healthcare providers just how significant their hydration levels can be in terms of impacting their overall sense of well-being. Dehydration can occur easily, and it can cause immediate feelings of tiredness, trouble concentrating, increased stress, unnecessary cravings due to hunger, and irritability. When the brain isn't getting the right amount of fluids needed to power itself, the rest of the body may have trouble functioning to the best of its capability. Be sure to drink water regularly and often -- it may help to set a timer to go off every hour to remind yourself to take a sip of water at least that often, if not more so.
Sleep -- Quality and Quantity is Important
Generally speaking, if we're feeling tired and we didn't sleep much or well last night, we know we can put two and two together as an explanation. However, you may be indulging in poor sleeping habits without even realizing it, and it could be sabotaging your health on a daily basis.
First, you want to be sure that you're getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night without exception. That's because 7-9 hours is often cited as the ideal range of sleep. Besides this, it's highly important to make sure the quality of that sleep is high. Your mattress and pillow should support you comfortably, and you should make sure to block out any light from outside in the street, or from electronics, which should be banished from the bedroom.
Take the necessary steps to improve your sense of focus and mental clarity for better overall wellness.
