What Successful People Do Differently
By Sandy Schroeder
Successful people definitely see life differently. First, they live life on their own terms. Second they spend most of their time doing whatever they do best, delegating the rest. Third, they move quickly.
This plays out in specific steps like these from Lifehack.
Self-correct quickly – Figure out where you get the best feedback and keep checking it to self-correct daily. Successful people pay attention to stay on course.
Live simply – The less clutter you have, the faster you will move. Know what you need and delete extraneous mental and physical stuff. When your desk is clear and your mind is at ease, work happens much faster.
Enlist help – Doing absolutely everything on your own can be self-destructive. All of the power and energy that could go into a dynamic project may simply be swallowed up by daily tasks. Find good help and use it to free up your time.
Avoid long detours – Sometimes it is easy to get into a groove that does not quite work. Don’t wait for it to magically change, look around to see where you should be. The sooner you make the change the better.
Make the best moves – Sometimes people feel they have to put in the time to climb to the top. In reality, many leaders only take the needed steps, often reaching the top from a different area. Keep your eyes open to see where you might fit the best.
Generate independent support – Successful people may have the time and energy to make things happen because they have established separate sources of revenue that let them structure their time. Investing to build outside revenue may be well worth the effort.
Move quicker – Setting lengthy goals may not provide the incentive to get the job done now. Wise workers have always known the job fills the time available. Take a closer look to see how you can accomplish your goals sooner.
Get enough sleep – Seven to eight hours of sleep every night will keep your mind and body in shape to do the best work. Establish a workable routine with adequate rest, and enjoy the alertness.
Overall, successful people understand how crucial time can be to maximize their efforts. If something isn’t working, they move on. They make technology work for them, instead of being a slave to it. Finally, they have a short “to do” list going every day, and they unplug every night. Mostly, they live life on their own terms, which seems to give them the power to do more.
