Fall Travel Tips That Will Save Your Back
By Donna Stark
Are you like millions of other people who think summer is the best time for travel? If you are, think again! And while you are thinking, get ready to pack your bags because nothing beats a trip during the fall season. But before you begin to pack, let's go over some tips on how to pack lighter and more efficiently. Because no matter where you go, you certainly don't want to end up hurting yourself and spending the entire trip in pain.
Select Your Suitcase Wisely
Whether you are driving or flying, the type of suitcase you choose can easily make or break your trip. Try to stick with luggage that is easy to pack, carry, and lift. Rolling suitcases that are lightweight are worth the extra money you may have to spend because they can save you from a lot of aggravation and pain. It's also important during the selection process to choose the correct size of bag. You certainly don't need a huge suitcase if you are simply going away for the weekend.
Create a Checklist
It's time to get practical about what you need and will use, and the best way to do so is to create a checklist. Sit down and figure out where you will be staying, what activities you will be doing, and if there are any events you need to bring specific things for. It's a good idea to check the weather forecast at this time, too. Once you have done all that, look at the list you created and see if there is anything you can edit out. The less extra stuff you pack, the happier your back will be.
Pick Your Travel Outfit
A great way to take some of the bulkier items out of your suitcase and save space for other things is to wear those items while traveling. Wearing your sneakers, heavy sweatshirt, or jacket can lighten your bag and give you room to spare. It may even give you just enough room to bring home a souvenir!
Go Small
Another great way to save space and keep unnecessary weight out of your bag is to go small. Avoid packing those large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and skincare products. Instead, hit the travel-size section at your local store and stock up. You may even be able to score sample-sized packets of your favorite products simply by asking the employees at the stores that offer them.
Pain-Free Travel
There are so many reasons why you should leave the confines of your home for a vacation this fall, and there are just as many reasons why you should prioritize your safety before you leave. By following the tips above, you will be able to enjoy the best of what this season has to offer!
