3 Reasons Why Running Is a Great Fitness Choice

When we're trying to stay in shape, exercise is key. Without exercise, the state of our muscles is bound to suffer. Regular movement helps us control body fat, build strength, and sculpt a body we're proud of. But many times, we don't really know which exercise to choose. There are just too many options! If you're looking for an effective way to stay fit, take a look at these three reasons why running is a great fitness choice to add to your life. 

It Requires Minimal Equipment

One of the best parts about running is that you don't need much. Besides a trail -- which can be as simple as around your block -- all you really need is a water bottle and some shoes. This makes running one of the most affordable ways to stay fit. Just make sure that you buy shoes that are supportive and comfortable. The better your shoes, the better your running experience will be. Once you acquire the necessary (and minimal) supplies, get up, get moving, and get in the best shape of your life.

It's Easily Adapted

Exercises that are easily adapted are good choices for everyone. It means we can use them long-term, no matter our age or condition. If you're more advanced, try running for longer distances, going at a faster pace, or even running uphill. If you're not as advanced, try alternating between walking and jogging. It's easy to adapt a running routine, so start slowly and change the routine as your body gets healthier and more experienced.

Running works. It helps build muscle and shred fat. It helps us lose weight. It helps us maintain good mental health -- especially if you take advantage of the infamous runner's high.
