The Exercise Program You Like Is the One for You
By Tom Herrin
While we may believe otherwise, there is probably not one exercise program that is the only one for us, unless we have some kind of health limitation. It really comes down to likes and dislikes. Some of us can really get into a traditional exercise routine and feel good at the end of it. This tends to encourage us to do more. Others of us are not so stimulated by these programs and need something that can spark our interest to a greater degree. Some of these simply require us to be creative and flexible.
Hit a Few Balls
If you ever played baseball or softball, you likely spent some time in a batting cage. You may not have even been close to one since then. They are all around, and you may actually find that you can still enjoy trying your luck. It can be contagious as you try to best yourself, and you may end up setting more goals. It can also be more exercise than you may have thought as you can do a fair bit of work trying to hit. For moderate exercise, it may be something that is worthwhile for you.
Play Golf
Contrary to its beginnings, golf can be a game that anyone can play. You pretty much set your own pace. If you choose to walk the course, you will get in some miles. It can be fun as you try to improve your skills, and it is probably on the moderate list. Another good thing is that you can decide how many holes you want to play. You know only too well that it is a pretty social sport, so if that is something you want as part of your program, give it a try.
Kayaks May Be for the More Adventurous
If you enjoy the water, you may want to consider getting on a kayak. It may be a good idea to rent one before you get too far into it so that you will have an idea just what is involved. I have some friends who really enjoy it and go every time they have a spare minute. It is a more strenuous activity, so you want to be sure you are physically prepared. There are lessons available if you don't have someone who can give you the right kind of direction.
