Low Energy: How to Beat it Long-Term
By Genevieve Cunningham
Suffering from low energy levels may seem like a normal part of being an adult. Between work, family, and personal issues, it’s amazing that we have any energy left at all! But just because something is common doesn’t make it normal. Energy shouldn’t be 100 percent depleted all of the time. And if you feel as though you can never gain enough energy to feel like yourself, there’s a problem. If you suffer from low energy, take a look at these natural attempts to beat it for good.
Exercise
Exercise is tough to do when you’re already feeling low energy, but it’s one of the best ways to combat it. Exercise can actually create chemicals in the body that wake you up and make you feel alert. If you make it a part of your routine, then those chemicals become a part of it as well. This means that regular exercise can actually produce energizing results that last day in and day out.
Establish Sleeping Norms
Even if you’re technically getting enough sleep, it can be hard on the body if those hours are sporadic or always changing. Try your best to establish sleeping norms. When possible, go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time. This helps your body regulate, and over time, it may help diminish fatigue. Think it’s not working? Stick with it! This can take some time, so don’t give up.
De-stress Your Life
Stress is an energy zapper! If your life is full of stress, it’s no wonder that you feel tired all of the time. Beat this by eliminating as much stress as possible. Stop procrastinating, learn to say no, and use your time wisely … all of which can lower stress levels. It can also be helpful to pick up a stress reducing activity to perform at the end of the day. This will help you sleep better, which then leads to more energy throughout the day.
We need energy. We need it to work and play and go about the normal tasks of life. And when we don’t have enough energy, we suffer in a big way. If you’d like more energy in your life, take a look at these tips and give them a try. Before long, you may find more energy as a part of your life every day.
