Chiropractic Patients Speak About Treatment
Chiropractic care is a medical discipline that has become established in professional clinics around the country. Academic research and medical studies have done much to popularize this form of therapy amongst the mainstream, and this is due in no small part to the evidence-based efficacy of it practice. However, for a change of perspective away from the dry data and esoteric scientific research, an Ohio chiropractor has begun publishing feedback he receives from his patients to give others an idea of what they can expect from chiropractic treatment. Below, some of these cases are recounted.
An older woman, recommended to chiropractic treatment by her daughter, sought help for the pain caused by a frozen shoulder that developed after surgery. After attempting to rehabilitate the shoulder on her own, unsuccessfully, the woman sought chiropractic treatment and was pleased to regain the use of her arm and shoulder without having to resort to pain killing medication.
Another woman who was suffering from acid reflux, for which she was proscribed the drug Prilosec, sought help from a chiropractor. After three weekly adjustments her acid reflux disappeared and she threw her medication in the trash.
A man with chronic back, shoulder, and rib problems which developed many years in the past when he was injured while water skiing, sought help from chiropractic therapy. After nearly a year of therapy, the pain had cleared away and subsequently, did not return.
A woman who had been in two separate car accidents came in for chiropractic therapy after each for help managing the pain. Each time she found relief by following her doctor’s advice to allow her muscles to relax and to build back muscle strength.
Chest pain was a major problem for a woman who considered the source of it to be from her heart until she finally decided to be checked by a chiropractor who was able to determine the source was the ribs. The tightness of her ribs also constricted her breathing, exacerbating the symptoms. After only one adjustment she felt a great relief.
Lower back pain is one of the most common problems for those seeking chiropractic help and one woman experienced incredible results from adjustment over a period of 4 months. She is grateful for being able to work out and resume normal, daily activities without resorting to pain pills.
Numbness in the hands and fingers are common symptoms for those who experience a great amount of repetitive stress movement. A woman was able to find relief from this through just one chiropractic adjustment and appreciated the explanation she was given that her tissue needed time to re-adhere over several more visits.
