Morning Habits for Success

What is your morning routine? If it consists of hitting the snooze button 32 times, throwing yourself into the shower, and then wolfing down a fast breakfast on the go, then you may not be setting yourself up to be at your best for the day ahead. People who are successful in their career and personal life often have morning habits that start them off on the right foot. Here are some healthy habits you can work into your morning to have the best day you can!

Make a Plan

Did you know that Benjamin Franklin started off his day by planning what he would do each hour? He seemed to have a lot of success with that strategy! Now, you may not be influencing the creation of a new nation but you are influencing the creation of your successes – so start the day off with a plan.

When you get to work in the morning, map out your day. Start with a list of things you have to get done that day. When you break it down hour by hour, it can make getting things done more manageable. Try it and see how it works for you!

Make the Bed

This one may seem silly but if you make the bed each morning it can help you start your day with a little more motivation. Doing just one small thing, such as making the bed, puts you in a mindset to be motivated. It starts the day off on an active foot, instead of a lazy, aimless one.

Fitness First

Start off your day with a workout. It’s good for your body and your mind and starts your day off with a bang. Also, knowing you got your workout done first thing in the morning helps you to meet your fitness goals just in case something else comes up during the day that could derail a trip to the gym after work.

Start a Routine

Your morning needs to have a routine; otherwise, you may walk around aimlessly for a few hours before you really start getting anything done. Try to wake up at the same time every day (yes – including weekends!) and do things in a certain order. Wake up, have breakfast, exercise, and then sit down and map out the day. Do this until it becomes automatic and you might be surprised at just how much you can accomplish!
