Different Fitness Levels, Same Healthy Habits
By Donna Kostiew
One of the greatest facts of life is that every person is unique. We all have our own personalities and traits, we are all different shapes and sizes, and we all have that one-of-a-kind special element that pushes and motivates us to achieve our very own individual successes.
Many people are beginning to start a fitness routine for the first time in their lives while others ... well, they are preparing for yet another marathon. But no matter what your individual need is, or what that special motivating element is, The Joint Chiropractic is here to help you reach your goals, whatever they are.
4 Simple Habits to Include in Your Daily Fitness Routine
- Drink more water - There is no denying how important it is to our overall health to drink the recommended amount of water every day. Water is vital for the body to function at its optimum level and has been shown to be a major contributor to good health by helping to prevent many different health problems.
- Get enough sleep – At least seven hours of sleep are usually recommended for a healthy sleep-cycle and optimal health. Adequate sleep can help improve attention skills, decision-making, and memory. It promotes better moods, clearer skin, and safer driving while at the same time, helps to maintain weight levels and boosts the body’s immune system. Sleep deprivation is certainly one of the worst things we can do to our bodies, so aim to get the recommended amount each and every night.
- Keep healthy foods on your grocery list - Take a balanced approach to your diet every day and set a goal to eat the required amount of servings from each food group. This means that lean proteins, plenty of vegetables and fruit, and healthy carbohydrates and fats should be on your grocery store list. It also means that certain foods should be erased from the list as well, like those that are packaged in boxes adorned with cartoon characters, that are on the heavy side with sugar, or whose color reminds you of the local hazmat team.
- Establish a regular chiropractic schedule - Getting regular adjustments will maximize your efforts during workouts and improve your level of fitness. The adjustments your chiropractor will provide increases your range of motion, promotes better balance and flexibility, builds strength and endurance, and prevents injuries. And it doesn’t matter what level of fitness you are at because these benefits will appear regardless.
Every step forward that you take is a step closer to your goal. So whether you are at Day 1 on your fitness journey or you have decades of athletic experience, chiropractic care will help!
