Do You Ever Feel Blue?
By Tom Herrin
At one time, being blue meant that someone was down, depressed. Blues music seemed to represent a mellow feeling of low energy and being half sedated. A lot of other colors had their own message. If you waved something red, it meant it was a sort of challenge or a certain boldness. A white flag has always represented truce or surrender. Several other colors had their own particular meaning as well. Incorporating certain colors into clothing people wear can also represent different things. Black has always been considered reserved and basic. Someone wanting to express themselves may wear some bolder colors such as red, yellow, orange, or some other high visibility color.
Violet May Be Inspirational
Many people consider violet, or some shade of it, to provide some type of inspiration. It may be something that is higher than what is found in basic everyday life. Some shade of violet is seen many times in religious ceremonies. It is associated with spirituality. It is often believed that violet can enhance creativity and thought. Meditation is thought to be more productive when there is violet in the room. It is also well-known as a color that represents royalty. Kings and queens may be thought of as draped in it.
Orange Is Not Just For Breakfast Juice
One of the warmer colors is orange. Anyone who comes in contact with this color can recognize where that notion originates. It is considered a color that can stimulate the mind and produce happiness and confidence. It is also thought to be a color that relates to uniqueness. Orange is thought to be a color that shows independence and a certain kind of thought that is on the line of wisdom.
Blue Doesn’t Have to Mean Down
The color blue has several significant meanings. It is a color that is thought to increase productivity. Personally, I find many blues to be tranquil. I painted my office a sky blue so that I felt as if I was seeing outside light. It is considered to be a good color for business discussions and decisions. It is thought to be a decisive color. It is also thought of as bold. Many people think of blue as a healing color, and one that can keep away many kinds of diseases. I generally wear blues when the weather is sunny and clear because it seems to be a color that goes with that type of weather. Wearing blue may actually make you feel productive and able to make good decisions. Try colors to change the way you feel and the way you interact with others; you might be surprised what they can do.
