When Your Back Is a Pain, Let Chiropractic Help
By Sandy Schroeder
If every day begins and ends with a stiff sore back, you may need some chiropractic help to get back to your normal activities. Weekends can be fun again as your back pain lifts and your body becomes more limber.
The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you staffs a wellness center with licensed chiropractors who help people find solutions for pain and new answers for wellness.
See Your Chiropractor
You will learn how improved spinal health plays out throughout the system. The spine keeps the body mobile and the central nervous system inside keeps the body functioning.
When you talk with your chiropractor, outline your daily activities and any issues that you have with back pain. If you sit all day and then find you can hardly move, a gentle targeted spinal adjustment may realign the spine and bring relief. As the pain lets up, everything else may improve. Many people also discover they have more energy, think more clearly, and they feel more relaxed.
As you assess the benefits, you may find weekly 15-minute spinal adjustments keep the relief coming. At the same time, your chiropractor can watch for glitches and help you put together gentle stretching activities to break up your day and keep your body limber. The more you move the better your body will feel. During the day, take breaks as you work to do simple stretches to keep the body stay flexible. Try these.
Put Stretches to Work
Always check with your doctor before beginning new exercise routines.
Stretch the chest - Stand tall. Clasp hands behind lower back and slowly raise arms. Keep shoulders back and head up with your chest lifted. Hold for a few seconds and then release.
Simple back stretch - Reach over the back without hunching and try to touch hands with top palm facing down and bottom one facing out. Just stretch as far as you can as you gradually loosen up.
Lean and stretch - Stand and stretch with feet about 12 inches apart. Raise arms overhead and link fingers. Slowly lean to the left and hold for 10 seconds. Return to the center and lean to the right.
