Carrying Heavy Weights Become Automatic Exercise
By Sandy Schroeder
Most of us carry at least two bags every time we walk out the door. Laptop bags, purses, and gym bags all go with, and often turn out to be fairly heavy loads. The good news is the WellAndGood.com site says, there's nothing better than wrapping your hands around some heavy weight and walking off.
They call this the "farmer's walk," which means walking in a straight line while holding heavy weights in each hand. Keep shoulders back and down and make sure you are comfortable with the amount of weight. This exercise helps posture, core strength and whole body coordination. It exercises almost every muscle in the body including core, arms and legs for a full body workout.
If you think about it, you are probably doing a version of the farmer's walk every time you lift, tote and or carry all sorts of packages, bags and parcels during the day. Lifting kids in and out of the car, toting laundry, shouldering work totes and carrying groceries may be exercising your body every day. When my kids were small, I developed an impressive set of arm muscles and expanded my upper body strength. They start out small, but by the time the kids are 2 or 3 you wind up lifting a lot more weight.
Back Up Your Efforts with Chiropractic Support
When you consider toting weight as exercise, be sure to back up your effort with some overall support and guidance from your local chiropractor.
The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you staffs a wellness center with doctors of chiropractic who help people of all ages figure out the best solutions for pain, health and fitness.
When you come in your chiropractor will explain how good spinal health can play out in improved overall health. The spine keeps us up and running, and the central nervous system inside provides all of our brain-to-body communication that carries us through the day.
Bring all of your questions on fitness and any concerns over pain. A gentle targeted spinal adjustment may ease aches and pain, and create a welcome feeling of well-being. Individuals often say everything seems better. They may sleep better, be more energetic, and think more clearly.
As you evaluate your benefits, you may want to use weekly 15-minute spinal adjustments to stay up to speed. Your chiropractor can monitor your progress with carrying weights, maintaining good posture and strengthening your core, spotting any glitches before they become major.
Many of my friends, relatives and co-workers have used this system of chiropractic support to stay healthy, fit and free of pain. Often they brought in their families to help kids play through sports problems and seniors cope with arthritis and sciatica.
