Meet The Doctors
Dr. Cole Schanilec pursued a degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington having graduated in 2016, then following his passion for Chiropractic at Life University graduating in 2020. He has served the communities of Tampa and Sarasota in Florida prior to working in Cumming, GA in November 2022 at the Cumming Town Center location.
Dr. Cole, as he prefers, was raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in Hickory North Carolina. That being said he truly enjoys hiking with his wife and two dogs, Indy and Maggie! He met his wife, Dr. Sarah, in chiropractic school, where “she figuratively and literally took my breath away,” he said. He truly loves being part of the sports community whether it’s coaching or participating, which is where he realized the power of chiropractic care. “I got my first adjustment by happenstance while training for an international rugby game at a chiropractic college. It transformed my entire perception of what chiropractic is and what its capable of doing for health, maintenance, and performance of the body. When I got back I enrolled as soon as I could, now that I knew what I could do for people I wanted to share it with as many people as possible,” he says. Realizing how much he had to care for his body during his rugby days, he refers his body as a machine, “getting to educate patients on how their bodies work. It’s the most fascinating machine on the planet and getting to educate others on just how cool it is!” His coolest experience was while representing the USA national rugby team vs the Mexican nation team in Mexico, “It was so cool to truly experience a new culture and play against some of the best competition and learn so many new things along the way.”
Dr. Cole loves to take care of his patients, stating that “watching people overcome trauma and dysfunction to reach a higher state of health and wellbeing,” is the best thing about his profession. He truly cares for his patients that he currently cares for at The Joint, saying “I love the people of Cumming in and around the Town Center, it’s a hard-working community where manners mean something and helping others is highly valued.” With Dr. Cole being a very active person, he does love his coffee, stating “If I couldn’t live without one thing it may be my coffee creamer. I got a seriously love for java, but I just can’t drink it without a little sweetness.” We can only imagine the sports and life conversations that would happen with him if he could comprise his perfect dinner, he said “I would comprise a dinner party of all my favorite athletes I liked to watch growing up. It would have to be Michael Jordan, Luke Kuechly, Barry Sanders, and Cael Sanderson.”
