Chiropractor Says: Stop! (A Lesson in Health)
By Brandi Goodman
Simon says may have been a popular game when you were a child. Now, you should do what the chiropractor says if you hope to keep your health intact. When the chiropractor says to stop using these items, for example, it may be wise to listen.
Stop Wearing High Heels
High heels should be low on your list of shoes to wear. They raise your feet at an awkward angle, putting unnecessary stress on your feet, legs, and lower back. You're more likely to trip in a pair of shoes like this as well, because of the uneven balance.
Stop Putting Your Wallet in Your Pocket
Too many people end up sitting on their wallets because they placed them in the pocket of their pants. You may only be thinking about the convenience when you do this. If you really consider the move, though, you're sitting on something that only spans one side of your bottom. This puts your body at a slight angle instead of being even. With more weight to one side, you're not putting stress on your lower back. Stop putting your wallet, phone, keys, or anything else in your back pocket if you don't want to throw off your posture.
Stop Looking Down at Your Phone
Your phone should be at eye level. Looking down at your own device puts undue stress on your neck and shoulders. If you notice you've been getting some neck aches lately, it's time to start looking up -- not down anymore. You may want to invest in a phone holder. There are even options now you can wear around your neck and clip your phone to so no holding is required.
Stop Drinking Sugary Beverages
A beverage filled with sugar may taste good, but it doesn't do your body any good. You're not getting important nutrients from it, and are actually causing harm to your health instead due to all the extra sugar and calories it adds to your day. Stop drinking these options -- even if they say they'll help with quenching your thirst or boosting your energy. Water is the only thing you should be drinking.
Follow this chiropractic advice and stop using unnecessary items that only harm your health. Once you've ceased using them, you may spoon realize just how much you don't even miss them. There are more convenient options that won't impact your well-being.
