Dr. Luis Fornia Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico en Bayamon in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in human anatomy with a minor in biotechnology. He then completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic program in 2020 from Life University in Marietta, GA. In early 2021, he joined The Joint team in Marietta while currently working for the West Cobb Location in Marietta, GA.
Dr. Luis, as he prefers, was raised in San Juan, Puerto RIco. He enjoys being outdoors such as hiking, traveling, camping. He also enjoys sitting back behind a book cover or playing some video games with the company of his cat. Thankfully he is able to take advantage of the close proximity to Kennesaw Mountain to his office to fulfill all his outdoors needs, adding “ I like to walk in the trails, and the people have been very nice.” When asked what his favorite part of being a chiropractor is, he replied, “Being able to help and see the progress of his patients.” “Every day is a new adventure, I never know what is going to happen, “is another statement that came to him when it came to describing his day to day life as a chiropractor.
If Dr. Luis could bring together any four people from history for the dinner party of his dreams, he would have DD Palmer, Nikola Tesla, Carl Jung, and John Mulaney. When asked about the coolest thing he has done, he said “Swim with wild whale sharks and giant stingrays!”
Dr. Maria Del Pilar Burgos Santiago earned her Bachelor's of Science in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Chemistry in 2015 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 2015. She then went on to graduate with her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Life University in September of 2020 in Marietta, GA. She joined The Joint team in Late in 2021, and has been rotating between a few clinics including a few clinics in the Marietta area.
Dr. Maria or Dr. B, as she goes by, grew up in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she learned to connect with nature, went hiking, on the beach, adding that it was “One of the best cities on the island!” She also enjoys reading and playing sports with her dog, Logan, and her partner, Jesus, who have been dating since their early college years in 2012. When asked why she was so passionate about chiropractic she stated that, “Being able to contribute to better health for my patients, helping them reach their goals while being part of their journeys. Her favorite part of her career is because she has the “Opportunity to work in a fast paced environment delivering really good care!” When asked where her passion came from, she said “When I was a Judo athlete I had a low back injury and my physician, at the time, told me that I couldn't fight anymore. My heart was broken but I decided to not give up and find another opinion. That’s when I went to a chiropractor and it was life-changing for me! Then one of my best friends signed up for chiropractic school and I realized that this was more than an opportunity for me!”
If she could bring together any four people from history for the dinner party of her dreams, she would have Michelle Obama, Frida Kahlo, Halima Aden, Amelia Earhart and Vigdís Finnbogadóttir because, “These women represented changes in our history becoming leaders opening the path to new female generations to dream big and break any limitations that society imposes on us.” She always has a carton of eggs in her fridge, loving them because, “It’s a rich source of protein and vitamins.” The coolest thing she has done is go skydiving, saying that “it was cool feeling the adrenaline and breaking fears from the past!”
