Negative thoughts tend to lead to self-sabotaging behaviors. People believe they will never achieve the fitness results they want so they decide to consume whatever food they desire. They skip workouts, overeat, and put themselves down for doing the wrong things, leading to a cycle of negativity and no results. It has long been said that thinking positively can prove powerful if done right. Forget the negative feelings and start to believe you can do it to make it come true. Set Achievable Goals
One of the biggest mistakes people make when starting a fitness routine is setting unachievable goals that will never get met. Only shoot for losing one or two pounds per week (instead of 10), or set a daily workout goal of 30 minutes. These are easier to meet and will leave people successful.

Some people have a hard time recognizing positive attributes. Rather than a person being hard on themselves for eating one slice of pizza, they should be proud they didn’t consume a second slice that they so easily could have in the past. Perhaps someone put less creamer and sugar in their coffee than they normally would have, or they drink six full cups of water throughout the day instead of only the few they’re used to.
