3 Signs You Need a New Approach to Fitness
By Genevieve Cunningham
Most people who are actively working toward better health have some sort of fitness plan in the works. It might include a certain set of foods, a certain amount of working out, and even a certain set of supplements. And when your plan is working and you’re seeing results, you stick with it like glue. But what happens when your plan doesn't seem to be working anymore? If you're beginning to question your health care plan, take a look at these signs that a change might be necessary.
You’ve Stopped Losing Weight
Many who embark on a fitness plan do so to lose a little weight. And at first, they often see a few pounds drop off. But when the weight stops dropping no matter what you do, it might be time to reevaluate. Even though your weight loss efforts will ebb and flow, an abrupt stop with little change may indicate that a change in your fitness plan is necessary.
You No Longer Feel Motivated
Motivation is key to getting fit and staying in shape. If you've lost motivation, a small change in your habits might help you get back on track. Doing the same old things can get dull and monotonous. And monotony often leads to a decline in that go get ‘em attitude. If you need new motivation, don't be afraid to change it up and try something new.
Various Goals Aren't Being Met
Though weight loss is often the biggest goal, there may be other ways of gauging health. Maybe your blood pressure fell to a manageable number, your blood sugar leveled out, or your body fat percentage reduced. These can all be exciting ways of seeing success. But if these other types of goals aren't being met, a change in your fitness plan might help. Alter your diet, change your workout, do whatever it takes to get moving toward your goals again.
Even if your normal fitness routine has been working, there's nothing wrong with making changes. Sometimes you need a few changes to kick it up a notch. You need changes to keep it interesting and original. If these problems are showing up in your life and in your routine, consider altering your fitness plan, and you may finally see results like never before.
