In 1995, he established his own clinic after working as an associate chiropractor in nearby Geneva, Illinois. In June 2024 he joined the Joint Chiropractic Grand Rapids.

Dr. Knecht has a passion for helping patients who are dealing with acute or chronic conditions. With over 30 years of experience, and many hours continuing education, he can help patients with simple and complex conditions.

Dr. Knecht is committed to sharing his knowledge and experience on wellness with others in addition to helping patients find relief from acute or chronic pain. He serves as a community outreach lecturer, teaching the community on a wide variety of topics. He also belongs to the Illinois Chiropractic Society, Legacy Chiropractic Mentoring Group, and the Michigan Association of Chiropractors.

During his free time, Dr. Knecht likes to spend time with his family and work out at the gym. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs, gardening and cooking.

Dr. Matt has always had a passion for helping people feel their best. Growing up with parents who lived with chronic pain gave him a unique understanding of how deeply it can impact everyday life. That perspective shaped his compassionate approach to care and his dedication to helping others find relief.

While in college, Dr. Matt began struggling with constant migraines that made it hard to focus on his studies. After trying different solutions, it was chiropractic care that finally gave him lasting relief. Inspired by that experience, he decided to become a chiropractor so he could offer others the same life-changing benefits. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Matt enjoys taking on new challenges, whether it’s playing chess, strategizing in a board game, or reaching the top of a rock wall. He also spends time playing video games and relaxing with his cat, Vash, who’s always ready to “help” with whatever’s going on.

I’ve been a patient for over a year and will probably be one until the day I die. When I first went to The Joint I had a lot of lower back troubles that were paired with a migraine that would bring me to tears. Now I go once a week for a weekly adjustment and haven’t had those painful back troubles nor the migraines. Coming to The Joint has truly been life changing for me. I was super hesitant about joining another membership place where I’d just be another member number, that is so not the case here.
